Point Hope

Project Statement: 

I came up with the idea of creating a gift box because this is the first practical thing that I think of when relating to fairytales. During my childhood, a gift box is always something that I crave for, as it brings whatever I dream to get. 

To create the gift box, I started with the cube and created the box cover by scaling the top plane. Then, I created the ribbons around the box and drew the bow on the top. After that, I added layers to the box and smoothed everything to make the box more realistic. Next, I chose my favourite colours to decorate the box and added some thickness to the ribbons so that the object became printable. Finally, I added a surface and proper lighting under the help of the professor, successfully rendered the box and printed it out.

During the process of creating the box, I learned a lot of basic operations of Blender and also became better at how to incorporate these operations together to create the object I want. The process of exploring the software and creating a 3D object is really memorable.
